Most women want to try breastfeeding but often give up due to lack of support or inconsistent advice. Furthermore, it is important to understand how the labour, type of birth, and first 24hrs following birth can impact on a successful breastfeeding journey. Breastfeeding is natural but often not easy.

If you decide you would like to breastfeed your baby, it is advisable to attend our breastfeeding workshop and be as prepared and well informed as possible. During pregnancy or following birth, you can arrange to visit our lactation consultant  for support and to discuss any concerns. At beyond midwives we have comfortable feeding chairs, cushions, and pumps, with an experienced and passionate consultant to help and support you through this important journey.
