Our
Therapies
Complementary therapies are useful to support your body while your body is working hard to nourish your baby or recover post-birth. Every system in your body is required to successfully grow, birth and care for a new baby. Following a consultation, we can recommend the most helpful therapy to achieve a well-balanced body and mind.
The therapies we offer at Beyond Midwives are suitable from 12 – 42 weeks of pregnancy and up to 1 year following birth. Your treatment will be delivered by a registered midwife who has completed training in complementary therapies specifically for maternity care. This offers the unique opportunity to discuss your pregnancy or postnatal journey with a midwife who will understand the details. Furthermore, a midwife therapist can ensure the safest and most effective therapy is offered.
Therapies will vary in length, but for every therapy appointment we provide 90 minutes of time in total. Your first visit will require this time for an initial consultation so we can review your medical and pregnancy and previous birth history. This allows for you to enjoy your therapy without feeling rushed through a consultation. Subsequent therapies may not require 90 minutes, but the time is left available for you to choose.
